  1 – Distinctive still image Scream (1996) For my still image, I chose a shot from Scream because it is a really recognisable horror film and the mise-en-scene helps create a tense and creepy atmosphere. Costume: The character is wearing normal, casual clothes which makes her look like an ordinary teenager. This makes the situation feel more realistic because she doesn't look like a typical horror character. Lighting: The lighting is quite dark, with shadows around the room. This creates a sense of mystery because we cannot clearly see everything around her. The darker lighting also fits the horror genre and makes the audience feel more uneasy. Actor: The character is placed inside the house and is often shown alone. Her body language becomes more nervous as the scene continues.
